Technology

December8

Technology has almost completely taken over our world. Everyone thinks they need to get the trending devices. Whether it is an IPhone, a tablet or an iPod. With all of this new technology, our world is being changed one click at a time. You can now talk to someone with out having to physically being near them. My opinion goes back and forth on the new technology, it’s good because it has helped doctors find cures to cancer and technology helps do things we couldn’t do before. But, on the other hand, we are becoming lazy. You can buy whatever you need or want straight off your device. Now no one goes out places. Kids sit and play video games instead of being outside with their friends. Technology is altering the way we live our everyday lives. How will it be in just a few years from now?

The Running Life

November22

Sadly cross country with my friends and Coach Ciccareli has come to an end but, now we get to start training for track season which is right around the corner. I look back at my cross country season and I see how much I’ve grown, not just as a runner but as person. My team became like a second family to me. We are all really good friends now. I remember the first day of practice, we were all shy and scared but now, we couldn’t be any louder. On the bus on the way to our meets, we have Coach Ciccareli blast the stereo and we all sing along. We stand on the side lines and cheer on our teammates. You never know if a boost of encouragement could be the difference between first and second place. All in all, not only have I made up breakable bonds with my friends, I have gotten my own personal record and all of the hard work and long practices has all been worth it. What I got out of this experience was definitely worth waking up early every morning before school.

I Am From…

November22

I am from a happy place,
From playing with the dog to reading a book.

I am from the welcoming white home,
The smell of that nights dinner on the stove
And the warm fulfillment feel of a complete family.

I am from palm trees and purple flowers,
With the green grass growing tall
Along the little white fence with my handprints
Trailing along throughout my life.

I am from family game nights,
Sitting around together with Clue and Rummy-cube
I am from Dori and Uri
To Taylor and even Elvis too.

I am from jam packed Saturdays
To lazy day Sundays
From running cross country
To just running around doing errands.

I’m from the tickle monster
To the tooth fairy
And even princesses too.
From the Wiggles
Growing up to Dancing With the Stars.

I’m from the small, sunny town of Boca Raton
From Ellen and Ann to Ben and Jay.

I’m from family times at Zilker Park,
Watching Redbox movies,
And cooking as a family (minus my sister).

I am from a loving place.
Where love is not just an imagination, yet a real thing.

Halloween Scare

November4

The spooky aroma floats in the air as you approach the door.

Spiderwebs hang across the door being blown by the wind.

Ghouls and ghosts pop out at you when you least expect it, leaving you with chills circling down your spine.

Your hand shakes as you extend it to knock on the door.

The mahogany wood door screeches open and you and your friend get surrounded by a dark, black fog.

You loose your train of thought and the fright gets so surreal and all you want to do is drop everything and run.

Run as fast as your little legs will take you.

Finally, when the fog simmer downs, your friend gives you a little pep talk to keep your feet moving past the fright.

La la ladity la.

You hear this spooky sound of what you think sounds like a little girl screaming coming from down the hall.

It’s playing again but this time, louder and louder again.

You feel an ice cold hand push you in and you know it’s not your friend’s.

Screech! Screech!

You hit a loose baseboard and you jump yet again.

Boom!!!

The door shuts right behind you and you definitely weren’t the one that did it.

By now, you’ve lost your friend.

They were probably to chicken to carry on; not you.

Whoosh. A brief wind sends you slightly to the side.

At this point you feel, like you want to wail out for your mom.

What do you do?

Run.

Out the door and around the corner you run until you see familiar houses.

Sigh, your safe at last… For now.

Fall

October26

Walking along the nature trail
Feel the wind blowing in your hair,
Chomping of the leaves beneath your feet,
Picking out the perfect pumpkin,
With a smile among your face,
Fall

My favorite season is fall. I love the weather, it’s not too cold but not too hot. My family and I get to take my dog to the dog park and sit and play outside without having to leave because of the hot sun blistering on our skin.

What’s your favorite season?

Cross Country

September26

Before school,
Beyond the sweaty football players,
On the field,
Without mercy,
Despite the pain,
Past the point of no return,
According to the coach,
Cross Country

Orchestra: Violin

September17

I’m in honors orchestra playing violin. This man posted this video of him playing Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” on violin with helpful tips on proper playing. Our orchestra teacher is Ms. Compton. Everybody loves her! She’s super nice and I look forward to going to her class everyday. We play some really cool pieces, I personally like one called “Castle Lore”

The Writer’s “I”

September6

The writer's eye was an assignment in English class. We were given a paper I and filled it in with thing that we knew a lot about. Mine included my family, the instruments I play, my passions, tv shows, sports and sports teams, and things that happened to me in the past.
